The manticore is a deadly hybrid beast with the body of a lion, bat-like wings, and a venomous scorpion’s tail. In The Witcher 4, players may face this creature in mountainous regions and caves. Its claws, venom, and ability to fly make it a fearsome opponent.
There’s a cruel man-eater in these parts, laddie. He fell on a knight riding along the road with nowt but a boy for company. They say the monster rent the knight’s head right off — helmet and all — and split the horse’s gizzards...

The monster has, at the end of its tail, a deadly poison. The claws of a manticore can also be used as deadly weapons. Indeed, a manticore’s claws never stop growing.
The monster sharpens them on various surfaces, keeping them short and capable of slashing any victim.
Some intellectuals of the academy of Oxenfurt believe that the manticore could have three rows of teeth.
Thanks to its bat-like wings, the manticore can also fly, as we can see in the tech demo.
Moreover, the beast possesses a great appetite and is able to eat 20 people per moon.
One of the world’s oldest and deadliest creatures, I used to feel excitement at times like this, but now the beast is just in my way. Its meat and hot blood will help me survive this icy hell.

Fighting a manticore will likely combine grounded and aerial combat. We might have to dodge venomous tail strikes and quickly use our signs, bombs, magic and crossbow.
The manticore is part of the constant danger of the Continent. Fighting it will be hard and may take several stages, so players will need to prepare. With its flying, poison, and great strength, it could become one of the most unforgettable hunts and fights in The Witcher 4.
